Gateway Program Application

The Gateway Program is meant to encourage Walla Walla Community College students, particularly those from low-income, first-generation, or other underrepresented backgrounds, to explore a liberal arts education at Whitman College.

The program is only available for WWCC students who will graduate with their AA degree in the upcoming spring term (i.e. Spring 2026). Admitted Gateway students will have the opportunity to take 1-2 courses during Whitman's spring semester (mid-January to early May). Gateway students are also encouraged to apply to Whitman as a Fall 2026 Transfer applicant to complete their bachelor's degree.

The Gateway Program application opens on August 1 and closes on November 15. Decisions are released by early December.

For application information, contact Makaya Kekoa Resner, Assistant Director of Admission (DEIA focus). For Advising/Course Registration information, contact Juli Dunn, Assistant Vice President of Student Life.
