The Gateway Program is designed to encourage Walla Walla Community College students, particularly those from low-income, first-generation, or other underrepresented backgrounds, to pursue a liberal arts education at Whitman College.
The program is only available for WWCC students who will graduate with their AA degree in the upcoming spring term (i.e. Spring 2025). Admitted Gateway students will have the opportunity to take 1-2 courses during Whitman's spring semester (mid-January to early May). Gateway students are also encouraged to apply to Whitman as a
Fall 2025 Transfer applicant to pursue their bachelor's degree.
The Gateway Program application opens on
August 1 and closes on
November 15. Decisions are released by early December.
