Campus Visit

We at Whitman College are pleased to welcome students and their families to campus for visits with new COVID-19 protocols based on CDC guidelines.  To register for a campus visit select a date using the calendar.

We look forward to seeing you!

Here’s what you need to know:

Each family will get their own student tour guide that will take them on a 45 minute tour that is completely outdoors. Tours will be followed by an individual meeting with one Admission Officer for 30 minutes.  This is similar to our information session and will also take place outdoors.

Visits will be limited to one student and up to two family members per time slot.

Visits are for rising seniors and transfer students only at this time.

We offer daily visits in the mornings at 10:00 and 11:30 am and in the afternoons at 1:00 and 2:30 pm. Time slots are based on availability.

Visit protocols during COVID-19:

-All admission staff and guests will be required to wear a mask at all times and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet at all times.

-Guests will be contacted via email 48 hours before their visit and must answer no to the following questions:

1. Have you or someone you have been in close contact with been diagnosed with COVID-19 or placed in quarantine in the past 30 days?

2. Are you or someone you have been in close contact with awaiting COVID-19 test results?

3. Do you have one of the following symptoms that is not attributable to another condition:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Sore throat
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, we ask that you contact the Office of Admission at (509) 527-5176 or to reschedule your visit.

Guests are asked to take their temperature prior to arriving on campus and are expected to reschedule if their temperature is higher than 100.4.

*We know that visiting in person is not a good option for everyone. We acknowledge that the spread of the coronavirus across the country and in Washington State makes travel a risk.  However, we also know choosing the right college is a big decision. Campus visits are an important part of the college decision-making process and we want to do everything we can to support students through this process. We are happy to provide a variety of options for students and families for whom travel is not ideal.
